BETTER SCHOOLS ACROSS LIVERPOOL
We've delivered the new Gulyangarri Public School with a new co-located public preschool and we’re delivering four more new co-located public preschools at Cartwright, Cecil Hills, Heckenberg and Miller Public Schools. These preschools will help bring down costs for families, improve access to early education and give our kids the best start in life.
We're also investing in high potential and gifted education at James Busby High School, delivering major upgrades at Cecil Hills High School and creating the new Liverpool High School.
MORE TEACHERS FOR OUR CHILDREN
Because of the former Liberal Government’s unfair wages cap and neglect of public education, teacher vacancies reached an all time high, resulting in 10,000 merged and cancelled classes across NSW every day.
When the Minns Labor Government was elected one of our priorities was to rebuild our education system. Just in the last two and a half years we’ve:
Delivered the largest pay rise in a generation to all of NSW’s public school teachers;
Reduced teacher vacancies across NSW by 61 per cent meaning our kids are spending more time learning in class and receiving more one-on-one attention from their teachers;
Begun delivering 177 new classrooms across our community; and
Nearly halved the number of merged and cancelled classes by getting more teachers into the classroom.
Rebuilding our education system takes time but we are committed to getting the job done.
