African Sub-Sahara International Development Agency

06 May 2026

I recognise the important work of the African Sub-Sahara International Development Agency in supporting migrants and refugees within our community. Their vision is to become a united humanitarian voice for people of African descent and promote social change on a local and international level. Through its programs focused on settlement, engagement and transition support, the organisation plays a vital role in helping individuals and families build stability, confidence and a genuine sense of belonging as they establish their lives in Australia. People in the first 5 years of settlement can face a range of challenges and barriers, and ASSIDA seeks to uplift individuals while strengthening their integration into the broader community. Their work demonstrates the power of community-led support in opening doors, creating pathways and empowering people to thrive. With a growing African diaspora community in Liverpool, their work helps to strengthen the social fabric of our whole community. I commend the African Sub-Sahara International Development Agency for its ongoing contribution and advocacy on behalf of those who need it most. Their efforts are invaluable, and I look forward to supporting their work in service of our community.
