I am delighted to recognise and congratulate Arthur and Ann Watson on the remarkable occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary. Reaching fifty years of marriage is a wonderful milestone that reflects a lifetime of love, commitment, partnership and shared memories. According to Arthur, the secret lies in choosing the right woman – of course, understanding and being a team player are important too! Arthur, a former Australian cricket umpire, has made an outstanding contribution to local sport over many decades, with Ann's support. As a Life Member of both the Fairfield Liverpool Cricket Association and the Fairfield Liverpool Umpires Association, he continues to dedicate countless hours to supporting grassroots cricket and helping generations of players enjoy and participate in the game. It is only fitting that Arthur and Ann, who is originally from the UK, were introduced through a cricketing colleague of his. I extend my warmest congratulations to Arthur and Ann on this significant milestone.
