Many families and carers who support children living with autism and other disabilities can often struggle with loneliness and disconnection. The opportunity to join others with similar experiences can be powerful and immensely rewarding. I recognise the incredible work of Joline and the Help You Cope team, who began as a small group of mums meeting at Maccas to share their experiences, support one another, and navigate challenges together. Six years on, that simple act of connecting has grown into a powerful and trusted community network supporting families and carers across south west Sydney. Their recent Autism Expo is a fantastic example of that impact, bringing together service providers, organisations and families in one welcoming and inclusive space. Events like this play a vital role in connecting people with the services they need, building understanding, and strengthening community ties. Help You Cope continues to make a meaningful difference by creating safe, supportive environments where families feel heard, empowered and connected.
