Long-time local artist Barry Kennedy is currently the featured artist for the Liverpool Art Society, which I have an ongoing partnership with. Many constituents have been blown away by the detail and colour of Barry's stunning pencil drawings, which are currently on display in the foyer of my electorate office. Barry is a regular at the Lakes Boatshed in Chipping Norton and has developed a wonderful collection of works that showcase the beauty and character of the natural world. His display of art features a range of detailed pencil drawings that include a striking cassowary, a much‑loved cat named Mr Jaffa and an array of beautiful flora. Barry's artistic passion is evident in every piece. As he explained, "I love drawing animals and flowers with pencils—they have so much character." Through careful observation and remarkable attention to detail, he brings each subject to life on the page. His work is a wonderful example of the creativity that thrives in our local community. I congratulate him on being recognised as the current artist in the spotlight and thank him for sharing his talent with the people of Liverpool.
