Reconciliation with our First Peoples requires a concerted effort by many different groups. It was a pleasure to join the member for Leppington at Community Kids Horningsea Park to see reconciliation in action at its flag raising ceremony. Community Kids Horningsea Park has implemented a reconciliation action plan based on the belief that reconciliation is about making change by building relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and gaining a deep understanding of history and culture. A native garden has been established at the front of the centre. It has a flagpole. It was beautiful to see the community come together to affirm its commitment to reconciliation. I give special mention to the centre manager, Karleen Luximon, for implementing the preschool's reconciliation action plan and for her dedication to building understanding in the community.
