James Busby High School Interact Club

12 May 2026

I congratulate James Busby High School on officially launching its Interact Club. It is a particularly noteworthy achievement as it is the first in the south‑west Sydney region. Founded on the Rotary principle of "service above self", the club reflects a strong commitment to developing leadership, compassion and community-minded values among young people. I commend Sedra Alawamah, Isatu Bangura, Mohamed Bazih, Cooper Donnelly, Alyzia Hoang, Zixuan Humphries, Rani Komer, Nauroo Lalomanu, Samantha Mu and Selena Muniz, who were formally inducted into the club during a badging ceremony. The first project was to create welcome packs for the incoming year 7 groups, with school supplies donated by Rotary Liverpool West, helping these students to transition smoothly into high school. I acknowledge the support of parents, teachers and representatives from Rotary Liverpool West, together with the Rotary district governor‑elect. Their encouragement has helped to bring this important initiative to life. I look forward to seeing the positive impact these students will make through service and community engagement in the years to come.
