Last year, I shared the incredible progress of the James Busby High School volleyball team with the House, and tonight I update members on how the team has made our entire Liverpool community proud. At the 2025 Australian Volleyball Schools Cup, the year 12 division three team went through the tournament undefeated. The team won every match, earned every point and ultimately brought home the championship trophy. To finish a national competition without a single loss is no small feat. It speaks to the team's skill, discipline and teamwork. James Busby High School was one of only two New South Wales public high schools that were invited to compete. The way the players carried themselves when off the court was just as impressive. I am told that their sportsmanship, respect and encouragement for others left a lasting impression on players and officials alike. They represented their school and our community with real class. I congratulate the students, their dedicated teachers and coaches, and the whole James Busby High School community for backing them every step of the way. Training starts in week four, and I encourage more students to sign up so Liverpool can keep our volleyball tradition strong.
