Karnataka Rajyotsava, a day that honours the rich culture, heritage, and achievements of the people of Karnataka. Rajyotsava marks the formation of the state of Karnataka in 1956 and is a time to reflect on the values, traditions, and accomplishments that unite its people. Karnataka is renowned for its contributions to language, literature, music, art, and innovation, and its people have enriched communities not only across India but also here in Australia. In Liverpool and across south-west Sydney, we are fortunate to have a vibrant Kannada-speaking community that continues to preserve and share its culture, festivals, and traditions, strengthening the multicultural fabric of our city. I recognise the achievements and contributions of the Karnataka community to local business, education, culture, and civic life. I also acknowledge the many people who have ensured that Kannada language and culture thrive here in south-west Sydney. Your commitment to celebrating your heritage while contributing to broader society enriches all of us and embodies the spirit of unity, pride, and progress. On behalf of the people of Liverpool, I extend my warmest wishes to everyone celebrating Karnataka Rajyotsava. May this day continue to inspire pride, connection, and joy in our community.
