Lawrence Hargrave School Art Exhibition

25 June 2026

Artist Edgar Degas said that art is not what you see, but what you make others see. I have to say that the students and teachers at Lawrence Hargrave School made us all see their creativity, talent and imagination at their recent outstanding art exhibition, which showcased an incredible range of works. The exhibition highlighted the hard work and artistic growth of students across the school, with works inspired by a diverse group of renowned artists including Simpsons creator Matt Groening, pop art pioneer Andy Warhol, Serbian Australian artist Loui Jover and acclaimed Indigenous artist Linda Syddick Napaltjarri. Each piece reflected not only the influence of these artists but also the unique perspectives and creativity of the students themselves. From bold colours and striking portraits to thoughtful interpretations of culture and storytelling, the exhibition demonstrated the power of art to inspire, connect and express ideas. I commend the dedicated teachers whose guidance and encouragement helped bring these works to life, and I congratulate every student who contributed to such a vibrant and successful exhibition. The Liverpool community is proud of your achievements!
