It is that time of year again. Bells are ringing, trees are going up and shopping centres are filled with the sounds of Mariah Carey and Michael Bublé. It also marks the announcement of the winners of my annual Christmas card competition. I am delighted to inform the House that year 6 student Katie Pham from Ashcroft Public School is this year's winner. Her artwork captures the classic Australian Christmas with Santa on a surfboard racing toward the shore, present in hand. The decision was incredibly difficult, which is why the artworks of the six runners‑up are featured on the inside of the card. They runners up are Khush Dahiya from All Saints Catholic College, Elijah Lucre from Cartwright Public School, Kattya Kha from Green Valley Public School, Manya Singla from Liverpool Public School, Lisa Do from Marsden Road Public School and Skylar Rose Price from Busby West Public School. Thank you to the more than 500 students who entered the competition. The talent on display made the choice tough but I am confident that Liverpool will once again have the best Christmas cards in this place.
