Mingyue Lay Buddhist Temple

17 March 2026

This Lunar New Year, I had the honour of joining the community celebration hosted by Mingyue Lay Buddhist Temple, welcoming the Year of the Horse with warmth, joy and a strong spirit of togetherness. This wonderful celebration brought together many families, elders, young people and visitors from different backgrounds. It was a powerful reflection of the rich cultural diversity that makes our community so special. Events like this remind us that cultural traditions are not only about honouring heritage, but also about building bridges, deepening understanding and strengthening the relationships that unite us. The welcoming spirit of the temple community was evident throughout the day. From the vibrant performances to the shared moments of celebration, the event created a space where everyone felt included and connected. I extend my sincere thanks to the leaders, volunteers and families of Mingyue Lay Buddhist Temple for their dedication and generosity in hosting such a meaningful event. Their efforts continue to enrich Liverpool's community life, and I look forward to supporting many more celebrations that bring our community together in the same spirit of unity, harmony and goodwill.
