Thanks to our wonderfully rich community, Liverpool celebrated Christmas not once but twice over the break. I recognise the Orthodox Christmas service held at the Serbian Orthodox Church of the Apostle Luke, known to many in our community as Sveti Luka Liverpool. It was a privilege to join Father Aleksandar, President Goran and members of the congregation for a deeply meaningful service marking one of the most holy days of the Orthodox calendar. The celebration of Christ's birth is a time of faith, reflection and renewal, and it was wonderful to see families and community members come together in such a spirit of reverence and warmth. The Serbian Orthodox community has long been an important part of Liverpool's social and cultural fabric, contributing to the diversity that defines our area. Events like this are not only acts of worship but also moments of connection that strengthen community bonds across generations. I thank the congregation of Sveti Luka for their hospitality and for sharing this significant and special occasion. I extend my warmest wishes to all those who celebrated Orthodox Christmas.
