Congratulations are in order for Sodanetta Kha from Green Valley Public School, who received a highly commended award in the youth category of the Liverpool Art Society exhibition for Lazy Log Days, her work created with acrylic and fine liner. She submitted this piece along with another that she created with graphite pencils called Stretching Together. It was wonderful to see Sodanetta's work on display during the award ceremony held at the Liverpool Powerhouse. This recognition is a testament to her creativity and skill as a young artist. I commend her for the dedication she has shown in developing her artistic practice and sharing her work with our community. I also acknowledge all the students who entered this year's exhibition. The annual event is extraordinarily well attended, and this year was no different, with hundreds of visitors coming through the Liverpool Powerhouse to support the artists in our region. The Liverpool Art Society continues to foster and promote creativity. I thank the society and sponsors of the exhibition for their ongoing commitment to nurturing the next generation of artists.
