I rise to recognise the outstanding achievement of Miller Technology High School student and School Captain, Yousef Al Masri, who was recently named one of only three finalists for the VET in Schools Student of the Year at the 2026 NSW Regional Training Awards for Southern and South-Western Sydney. Yousef was the only finalist representing public education in his category, an extraordinary accomplishment that reflects his dedication, leadership and commitment to excellence. Currently completing a Certificate III in Health Services Assistance through NSW Health RTO, Yousef undertakes placements at Liverpool Hospital where, at just 16 and 17 years of age, he has already been providing direct patient care, assisting healthcare professionals and working within multidisciplinary healthcare teams. Beyond his studies, Yousef is passionate about improving healthcare access and advocating for a fairer public health system, particularly in orthodontic care. Miller Technology High School and the wider Liverpool community should be incredibly proud of Yousef's achievements. With his compassion, leadership and determination, there is no doubt he has a bright future ahead in healthcare.
